U.S. PCE Price Index Up by 6.4% in Q4 2021

The Bureau of Economic Analysis revealed in its report about the U.S.’s Q4 2021 gross domestic product (GDP) published on Wednesday.

Notably, the Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index in the United States observed in Q4 of the fiscal year 2021 rose by 6.4%.

The figure marks a sharp rise in comparison to the growth of 5.3% recorded in Q3. Excluding food and energy prices, the PCE price index went up by 5.0%, another improvement from 4.6% registered in the prior trimester.

The price index for gross domestic purchases advanced by 7.0%, rising further from an expansion of 5.6% in the previous quarter.
